Web Services - Inventory Inquiry

When to Use

Use Inventory Inquiry to check supplier availability for a product right now (instead of relying on previously downloaded catalog data),

Before you Begin

  • Your supplier must participate in Web Services Inventory Inquiry.
  • You must be in a screen where the Web Services button is available (for example, when working with products, orders, or purchase orders).

Steps

  1. Click the Web Services, web button.png
  2. In the Web Services pop-up, select Inventory Inquiry.
  3. Review the Supplier Stock and Inventory results window.

What You'll See in the Results

If inventory is available, the screen may display:

  • Available Quantity (Avail Qty)
  • Unit of Measure (UOM)
  • Roll/Cut
  • FOB Point and Shade/Dye Lot are optional fields

No Quantity is displayed if no stock is available.

Supplier Variation: Mohawk

Mohawk requires additional inputs before you submit the inquiry:

  • Request Quantity
  • Quantity Minimum
  • UOM

Mohawk's response confirms the requested amount is available. It does not return the supplier's total available inventory.

Troubleshooting

  • No quantity returned: the supplier response indicates no available stock.
  • Missing fields or different layout: suppliers don't all return the same optional fields (FOB point, shade/dye lot, etc.).
