Price Formula (EC)

Price Formula lets you assign price formulas and rounding rules to new products as they are imported through RFMS E-Commerce (EC). These formulas are applied only when a product is first imported. They do not replace or update formulas on existing products, which helps you avoid unintended pricing changes when supplier catalogs update. If you need to adjust pricing on existing products, do that in the Products module using Price Range Edit.

Why Setting this up Matters

Setting up price formulas in E-Commerce helps standardize pricing for imported products so users do not have to apply formulas manually after each import. Because E-Commerce applies formulas only to new products, you can keep long-standing product pricing intact while still ensuring newly imported items follow your current pricing rules.

How is this Different from Price Range Edit?

Price formulas in E-Commerce work similarly to formulas set in the Products module, with these limitations:

LimitationWhat it means for you
Line commission is not editableIf you use line commissions, you may need to run formulas in Products > Price Range Edit after importing.
Formulas cannot reference previous formulasYou cannot use placeholders like P1/P2 to build formulas based on earlier formulas.
Cost-based formulas used in Price Range Edit are not availableBuild formulas using the fields available in the E-Commerce formula legend.
